About Me
Joseph Amireault grew up in the Midwest with most of those years spent in Minnesota. Long walks in the woods and fishing the many lakes gave him an appreciation and fascination for nature. He has always seen the world through a different set of eyes than most. Noticing the way sunlight hits a creek, the colors of insects, butterflies, fall leaves and trees with character; he always carried a sketch pad to capture those moments. In High School he was lucky enough to have a fantastic art teacher and mentor who always pushed his boundaries, saying “Art is in the eye of the artist and those who appreciate it” and “a true artist is never satisfied”. Which inspired him to create. He enjoys sketching, cartooning and painting in watercolor, acrylic and oils. His sketches have been featured in various publications, and one of his original oil paintings has graced the cover of “Life’s Hurdles & the True Winner” by author Steven S. Sharp.
As a young adult, he discovered photography and the joy of taking photographs of all he saw in his world. He loved being able to capture a photo of things like the details of a gnarly old oak tree to reference for his future paintings. Photography and the love of traveling in the U.S. and Abroad have given him the opportunity to capture a wide range of cultures and landscapes that have been seen globally. His photos have won several awards, and have also been featured in National Geographic.
Joseph spent many years in Florida, loving the sea, sunsets and sunrises. Moving from the beach, he spent several years in the beautiful mountains in Utah. Joe currently resides in the Reno /Lake Tahoe area of Nevada, where he enjoys painting, taking photos, and creating digital Logos for business’s and products.
